Shutter Tilt Rod Options

Shutter Tilt Rod Options

Hidden, Centre, Clearview or Side Shutter Tilt Rod? Each option gives a subtly different look to your shutters. When choosing your shutters, the shutter tilt rod is an important detail that impacts both the look and functionality of your window treatment. At ShutterStyle, we offer several tilt rod options to suit different interior styles—from classic to contemporary.

What is a Shutter Tilt Rod?

A shutter tilt rod is the mechanism that controls the movement of the shutter louvres. By moving the tilt rod, all the louvres open and close in unison, giving you control over light and privacy. Choosing the right tilt rod style can make a big difference in how your shutters look and perform.

Tilt Rod Styles Available

We offer four shutter tilt rod styles to complement your design preferences:

1 Centre Tilt Rod– the traditional choice for Shutters. The classic option, with a visible wooden rod placed vertically in the center of the shutter panel. This style gives your shutters a timeless, elegant look and is easy to operate.

2 Hidden Tilt Rod– Our Hidden Tilt Rod System allows you to adjust the louvres without a tilt rod and has no visible tilt rod. For a clean, modern aesthetic, the hidden tilt rod is built into the side of the panel. This internal mechanism allows you to adjust the louvres by simply moving one, keeping the front of the shutter clear and uncluttered. With Hidden Tilt, Our ‘Split Tilt’ lets you adjust the Shutter Louvres independently of each other – perfect for privacy or to adjust the light in your room.

3 Clearview Rod – Clearview uses a thin, discreet metal rod positioned on the back or edge of the panel. This offers the minimalist look of a hidden rod but with easier access and visibility. Clearview tilt allows for the most adjustment in the closure of the louvres and is the easiest to service. The tilt rod is on the hinge side (unless requested otherwise).

4 Side/Offset Tilt Rod – The offset tilt rod is similar to the centre rod but positioned to one side of the panel. It adds a subtle twist to the traditional style and gives you a slightly different aesthetic, often preferred for tall or narrow windows.

Which Shutter Tilt Rod is Right for You?

Choosing the right shutter tilt rod depends on your design preferences and how you plan to use your shutters. Our expert team can guide you in choosing the best option based on your space, style, and practical needs.
